Still Pickin’ recently had the privilege of playing for an enthusiastic Father’s Day crowd at the Winchester Cafe in beautiful Portland, CT. This little gem is located on the Portland-Cobalt Road (Route 66) just outside of Middletown.
Entering The Winchester was like entering an old western saloon. Steer horns, old wagon parts, pictures of the old west, and even a prairie owl and jackalope, adorn the walls. We especially loved the cowboy bar stools complete with built-in six shooters. And we were not the only ones there wearing cowboy boots and hats! We could not have felt more at home.
The best part? We’re headed back this weekend (7/14/19 4-7pm) to put on another Sunday afternoon show. Boy, oh boy, are we all fired up for it!
Nothing like cold libations, great chow, and some good old country bluegrass music on a lazy summer Sunday afternoon. Herd up the family and head on down. It’s gonna be a real hootenanny!
Here’s a couple of short video clips to wet your whistle…
